Urban Complex is representative of all the influences of the urban environments we traverse. Urban Complex performs live Neo-Soul, Jazz and R&B, with live visual art taking place at every event. Their performances are a true, all inclusive artistic experience that keeps the audience engaged and involved as the event progresses.

Urban Complex was the crystallization of a dream, coming to complete fruition in Southeast, Washington D.C. Urban Complex began as a collective of artists and educators who met in the Southeast D.C. communities they served. C.J. the Artist is a muralist and educator, with many murals on display within the city. Nadia and Jackson began to perform at local venues, and private events; with C.J. the Artist joining them frequently.

Now, Urban Complex is a fully fledged musical and artistic movement that combines the two in live performance. Music inspires art, and art inspires the music; each is interdependent on the other. The Urban Complex experience is something truly entertaining and unique, with an opportunity to take a piece home to remember the night forever.

Urban Complex is based in the District of Columbia, and truly embraces the culture of the city; continually drawing influence and inspiration from its rich musical history.  

Jackson on the Trumpet, and Nadia on vocals provide the live music for the audience and become the inspiration for the visual artistry taking place. Both classically trained in music, they truly bring professionalism and knowledge that transfers effortlessly into the music.

C.J. the Artist provides live visual art that compliments the music and vibe of the event. With years of experience painting murals and other art projects in and around the city, C.J. the Artist is no stranger to having an audience. The artistic aspect keeps the audience visually engaged, while providing a true culmination to the experience.
